Pokemon of the Week! (Hallowe’en Edition) Pumpkaboo!

What better way to celebrate Hallowe’en than with a very special Pokemon of the Week!

EP815_Pumpkaboo_iluminando

This week I’m bringing Pumpkaboo into the well deserved spotlight. Pumpkaboo is a dual ghost/grass-type Pokemon whose major stat increase is placed on attack. Not only is Pumpkaboo extremely kawaii, but it’s also an excellent addition to any Battle Maison team boasting a wide variety of choices for a move set from status inflicting moves, physical attacks and high specials.

As of October 2014 the super size Pumpkaboo has been available in all games. It would seem rude not to give Pumpkaboo its own special mention, right?

Importing Plushies from Japan or the US to the UK

Many questions have been posted recently around the internet about importing goods from Japan or the US to the UK. As we all know, many of these plush goods are very limited and certain series’ are hard to come by such as the Rainbow Alpacasso series and the Hallowe’en range of the Korohamu keychains. When importing there are several important things you need to know.

  1. Goods that exceed £15 (excluding delivery) are liable to a customs fee if they have not been marked as a gift.
  2. Items liable to fees and taxes may be held until amount pending is paid.
  3. In some cases your items could take up to 40 days to arrive, especially around Christmas time.

When it comes to buying our ever cuddly friends, quality and legitimacy is key. There are many sellers on a “Blacklist” which can be viewed here: Alpacasso Sellers

Please keep in mind that whilst TofuCute has been placed on their previous Blacklist, it is currently the only one to have been removed, this is due to them now stocking 100% authentic Amuse products imported from Japan.  If you are living outside of the UK and feel your options are limited, they are perfectly safe to buy from as are Tokyo Otaku Mode and Rosy’s Garden (see link for details).

Import times:

US = 4-21 days (average)

Japan = 10-30 days (average)

Typically items coming from Japan will take longer than the US but this entirely depends on method of shipping, time of year, weather conditions for cargo planes, how the sorting offices are working and clearing customs, however, Japan is often cheaper to import from than the US due to the even greater conversion rate.

Please keep in mind that if you choose to import something before Christmas make sure you are purchasing September-early November to avoid disappointment as these goods sell out fast and can sometimes take up to a week to dispatch.

Alpacasso: My Collection So Far…

The story so far.

Once upon a time a fairy princess named Leanne purchased herself a new best friend. This was no ordinary friend, her name was Bluebell and she was a Sherbert Alpacasso and was a beautiful bright blue colour as vivid as the summer sky.

They played together, took pictures and enjoyed a wonderful summer until Bluebell became sad. She wasn’t like the fairy princess, she was an Alpaca and even though she loved her best friend very much she wanted a new friend that was just like her. One day Leanne decided to get her a friend, on the morning of his arrival by the wizard post, she told Bluebell  that a very special Alpacasso was going to be her friend. Bluebell was very excited and waited eagerly by the window watching the sun moving across the sky until finally he arrived. She greeted him with her Sherbet kisses all over his chocolate brown fur! Mr Chocolate was delighted that his new home world was full of friendly people and he settled in immediately. It was such a Sweet Day.

Shortly after, only a few weeks later, Bluebell and Mr Chocolate adopted two baby Alpacas. Bon-Bon, the little pink bride with her long lashes and pure white veil and Custard with his sunshine coat and his cutesy bandana!

Everyone was living so harmoniously with the fairy princess and their little herd was getting forever larger that Leanne decided it was time to adopt a new friend for autumn. This autumn would be very special and she found Snowflake whom arrived like the first snowfall of winter on the day the autumn chill hit the air. Snowflake arrived and shook out her fur and met her new friends with so much excitement. She’d been sitting in a large shipment hold with lots of other sad Alpacas that were looking for new homes and her gratitude for being chosen shone iridescent.

To this day; Bluebell, Mr Chocolate, Bon-Bon, Custard and Snowflake all live in the magical pastel Kingdom of kawaii with their very best fiend Leanne. They all have to wonder what the future will hold and just when their newest Alpaca friend will arrive ❤️

Love Berry Alpacasso White Brooch Review!

The newly released Love Berry Alpacasso plushies have been on the UK shelves for several weeks and finally one has made herself a permanent home with my own Alpaca herd.

 The Love Berry plush “Snowflake” measures slightly shorter than other large Alpacasso toys due to the inability to stand. This range is part of the Baby Alpacasso sector and has no current plans to release more. Currently the white Brooch, Strawberry Collar Milk and the White Cap versions are the only in retail.

This adorable Alpaca’s long floppy ears and log-like legs add to her General kawaii-ness. She retails at £24.99 with free delivery from TofuCute, the UK’s only official retailer of Amuse Alpacasso, along with her other cuddly friends making her one of the cheaper large options in the brand.

“Snowflake” is one of the cutest plushies I own with her extra plush fur, dolly eyes, snowy white body and rosy plush, she would be the perfect gift option for any fan of the Alpacasso range. The ichigo brooch on the front adds an extra touch of sweetness and individuality to the already renowned toy.
